About Us

Bitew, the owner of Addis longed for an Ethiopian Restaurant in Richmond, VA. He found himself traveling to D.C. to get the food that brought back fond memories of his life in Ethiopia. After much planning and hard work, he found the perfect location and chef. Addis opened its doors in 2008 on 17th Street surrounded by the historical Shockoe Bottom Farmers Market. Addis has one foot firmly planted in RVA and the other around the world in Ethiopia.
